Songbirds

Preschool

Songbirds is a rhythm, rhyme, and storytime class for preschoolers.

 

Instruments, music, and colorful children's picture books create an entertaining class that nurtures creativity and imagination and feeds growing vocabularies.

Picturebook STEM

Elementary

Picturebook STEM celebrates diversity in science, technology, engineering, and math using culturally-diverse children's picture books and engaging hands-on activities to teach problem-solving and critical thinking and illustrate basic STEM concepts.

K-2nd and 3rd-5th Grades

Little Readers Theater

Elementary

Little Readers Theater turns children's picture books into performances! 

 

The little theater troupe writes scripts, designs their own small set, makes costumes, has fun with puppets, and learns through theater games. 

 

Drama is a universal form of expression that teaches collaboration, helps boost confidence, and develops social-emotional skills.

K-2nd Grades

Drama Club

Elementary

Young thespians learn about stage performance, set design, and costuming through creative exercises and team-building.

 

The budding actors use improvisational games, monologues, scenes, and short plays to sharpen their skills, promote social and emotional development, foster a positive self-image and encourage collaboration. 

 

Learners will perform in front of an audience at the end of the course. 

3rd-5th Grades

Theater

Storyteller's Studio

Elementary and Middle

Storyteller's Studio is an interactive class that inspires creative writers and budding wordsmiths to put pen to paper.  

 

Learners practice using alliteration and onomatopoeia, write poems and stories, make Mad Libs, illustrate comics, and use story mapping techniques to help hone their oral and written storytelling skills.

 

Writers use theater exercises, journaling, and writing prompts to feed their imaginations. 

3rd-5th and 6th-8th Grades

Podcasting

Middle School

Podcasting is a hands-on class that teaches basic podcasting skills — from planning and producing to editing and distribution. Learners create their own podcasts in this experiential course.
